The future is here! Or is it?
I’ve been looking at images from the 1950′s, 60′s and 70′s. Images of what they thought the future might look like. It’s really interesting. It seems to me that they thought the future would bring great advancement in transportation. In my opinion I believe the greatest advancements have been made in communication and information systems. In those earlier days, there also seemed to be an idea of Utopianism. Clearly, that won’t be happening… Looking back through the last decade, the future has brought hope and hate. How do we make the first of those two prevail? Perhaps in the next decade we step away from using the future to exploit consumerism and focus on using technology to help spread compassion, knowledge and peace. Maybe.
