Spanx is pure genius. Please make a tank top version for men, because in the last 10 months I have put on like 100 pounds. Thank you!
I’m sad that fall programing has come to an end, almost every TV show has already had their Fall/Winter Finale. Blah. This has been a great year for television, especially for ABC!
Here are my awards for this years fall programming: [I like to call them the Dizzer's]
Most Improved:
Ugly Betty – One of my favorite shows of the last few years, Ugly Betty has some of the best photography, set designs and wardrobes of any television show out there. However, I wasn’t really pumped about last season’s dramatic story line. This year the writers brought back a lot more of the witty banter that I enjoy. Great job getting this show back on track.
Take A Lap:
How I Met Your Mother – Although they had a decent year, I expect more. If it wasn’t for Barney and Marshall, you would have lost me this season.
Gossip Girl – I watch this show because it’s rather brilliant. Much like Ugly Betty, when it comes to photography, set design and wardrobe, Gossip Girl doesn’t disappoint. I think my problem this year was the over development of their younger and supporting characters. Too much. We watch the show because of S,B and C. Don’t F up a good thing.
FlashForward – You’ve only been on for half a season and you’re already letting me down. We all know you are wanting to fill that inevitable void LOST is going to leave us with. I see the opportunity there, but I’m skeptical. I gave you a chance, only because LOST wouldn’t be on for another 6 months. To be honest, with the budget I assume you have, you’re kicking us in the nuts. I’ll keep watching through the end of the season, but you better get your crap together. My advice: Tell Joseph Fiennes to quit over acting. I’ll stop watching just because of him.
SNL – I’d say your batting around .200 – Maybe 2 sketches are funny each week. The digital shorts have completely fallen off. Every year you are a disappointment. I just don’t know what to say anymore…
The Soup – I wasn’t sure where to put you. You’re good. But the last few weeks I feel like you have fallen flat on your face. Finish strong.
The One Man Show:
Jimmy Fallon – I want to be on your show next year. Let’s make that happen. Bravo to Jimmy! When the show first premiered, I was worried… It wasn’t gellin’. He has turned that around and it’s now my favorite light night show. *Applause*
Bring it Back:
Gilmore Girls – I know… I know…. But it’s a warm and fuzzy – make you feel good kinda show.
Arrested Development – Wrongfully accused in 2006, this show has been off the air for five years now. Enough is enough, bring this show BACK!
I’ll Never Watch You:
The League – no.
Ticket to Crickets:
So You Think You Can Dance – I usually like this show. I like the art of dance – so what? But the world only needs one competitive dance show per any 12 month period. Don’t be greedy. You jumped in too soon and you got burned. Next time, find people that can dance and that are likable.
Community – I don’t know how to say this… You’re terrible. Stop.
I Heart Thee
Project Runway – I’m soooooo happy you are back!!! I missed you Heidi… heavy [grateful] sigh…
Old Faithful:
It’s Always Sunny – You’re good. You never disappoint. You outdid yourself with the Christmas special…
MVP:
30 Rock – I’m not sure what I would do without this time slot. Probably the funniest show on Television. Tina Fey you are incredible.
Best in Show:
GLEE – Wow. I didn’t know what to expect… But wow. If you aren’t watching this show, you should be. It has something for everyone. Clever story lines, witty banter, beautiful photography, incredible character development and the music is amazing. I thought I’d hate the singing, but it’s done very well. Wow.
Modern Family – Funny. Funny. Funny. The most lovable characters on TV. A feel-good, laugh out loud sitcom/mockumentary that you must watch.
The Office – Solid. Every time.
White Collar – Look at the USA Network! Who knew they had it in them to create such a great show. Probably my second favorite show on air. Love it! I love the story – very Catch Me If You Can. Must watch!
Castle – Best of Group: We just started watching this show a few months ago and it has already become my favorite. We were a season behind, but immediately bought the DVD’s and caught up. I’m sure most of you haven’t heard much about it, but watch the pilot or at the very least one episode. It’s your typical murder mystery show with a twist, some comedy and a cast of characters you will only fall in love with. As with all my other favorite shows, great photography, story, character development, set design and editing.
Brilliant!!!!
