Seven out of ten mornings, I wake up with “Say You, Say Me” playing in my head. You gotta love Lionel Richie.
I had my first Mandolin lesson on Tuesday. I can almost play Old Joe Clark in its entirety. Loving it.
The World Cup has been pretty exciting huh?! I’m hoping team Denmark can beat Japan today. We’ll be wearing our jersey’s all day. How about team USA? They managed to win their group. That’s crazy. Yesterday’s game was sloppy. “Control” wouldn’t be a word I would use to describe their style of play. I’m not an Altidore fan, he’s lazy. I am going to put together a few photos that illustrate how lazy he is. But, they won the group! That’s pretty awesome, I hope they can pull it together and win a few more games.
Other sports news: How about those two donkey’s that can’t close? I’m not impressed with a couple of tennis players that need three days to complete a match. Now if this were Nadal and Federer? That would be “epic!” These are the opening rounds of Wimbledon, not the finals. Two no names like Isner and Mahut don’t deserve the attention. I am sure there are far better stories in the field. Let’s just go ahead and eliminate them both from play. We tried to watch some of this “action” yesterday and SPOILER: They’re terrible. Isner is an ogre and lacks the finesse that makes tennis a beautiful sport. All I could think was Andre the Giant. “Isner has a posse” We’ll be dropping stickers soon. Actually, no won’t. Remember: 2 days = cool. 3 days = terrible. It’s a fine line.
Back to the Dane’s, how much do you know about Bjarke Ingels? Not enough probably. Go check out http://www.big.dk/
He’s a fantastic architect out of Copenhagen. “BIG” he says, “Operates in the fertile overlap between the two: a pragmatic utopianism that seeks to create architecture that is socially, economically, and environmentally perfect.”
Finally, the photo is from my tour of KEEP. KEEP is a brilliant little shoe company out of LA. “Keep is a shoe company, a clothing company, an amalgam of interests, a way of being, a force, a language, a family and many other things. We work with people we respect, love and who make us laugh. We aim to keep things personal. We do everything the way we think it should be done. We pay attention to details.” My good friend Skypage hooked me up with the tour and the introduction to Una, the CEO. She’s a young, cool cat with vision. They have a dope boutique on Melrose/Fairfax that you must visit. I LOVE their shoes. I took a photo of these [because they are my favorite]:
